I will not resume in-person tutoring until it is safe to do so. I am encouraging all students to transition to online tutoring. Online tutoring information can be found in the lower part of this page.
Library Tutoring
Because I am located in Libertyville, I tutor primarily at Cook Memorial Library in Libertyville and Cook Aspen in Vernon Hills. As my schedule permits, I also tutor at Vernon Area Library in Lincolnshire, Warren-Newport Library in Gurnee, and Ela Library in Lake Zurich.
All these library locations offer students the option of tutoring sessions in a private, quiet learning environment equipped with tables and chairs, white boards, and free WiFi.
Each library has its own policy regarding the use of study rooms, but these rooms can be reserved in advance. Once we have a scheduled meeting time, I will take care of all study room bookings and insure we have a private room.
In-Home Tutoring
I have a very limited number of in-home tutoring times available. However, it is much easier to accept new students and provide you with the day and time you desire if the student is able to meet at one of the above area libraries.
Online Tutoring
Most of the college students I work with use online tutoring for help with essays and term papers. Online tutoring can also be effective for SAT and ACT prep. As a general rule, most students perform better in a face-to-face environment. Nonetheless, online instruction can be a suitable alternative if meeting in person is simply not possible.
The hourly rate for online tutoring is calculated based only on the live online time that the student and I actually spend together. I do not charge any additional fees for texting, emailing, editing writing assignments, and providing books and other study materials.
